The Veterans Community Project

Recently one of our valued customers, Blue Nile Contractors, asked the KC Branch to help with the Veterans Community Project. They organized several vendors along with themselves to build 1,600 linear feet of sewer main that will service 50 Tiny Homes and a Community Center for Homeless Veterans in KC. The Veterans Community Project (VCP) is on a mission to eliminate Veteran homelessness by providing transitional-housing and enabling access to exceptional 360-degree service solutions. Focusing first in the Greater-Kansas City area, VCP aspires to use Kansas City as the blueprint for achieving similar successes in cities across the United States. VCP has a long-term goal of eliminating Veteran homelessness nationwide.

VCP is determined to fulfill the unmet needs of homeless Veterans, a task accomplished only by the community for the community. VCP’s four pillars of service are:

  1. End Veteran Homelessness
  2. Never Say No to a Veteran in Need
  3. Connect Veterans to their Community
  4. Connect Community to their Veterans

Kansas City Branch donated trench boxes and road plates for the bore pit and were happy to be apart of such a great project that honors our veterans and helps them get back on their feet. USE was recognized for our generosity at the ground breaking ceremony on 3 Aug 2017.
